Altorreal sits in the hills above the Murcia valley, a short drive from the city and one of the more established courses in the region since Dave Thomas designed it in 1994. Two nine-hole loops, both starting and finishing at the clubhouse, give the round a natural rhythm while the elevated setting keeps the Murcian countryside in view from almost every hole.
Variety is what defines Altorreal. Undulating greens, well-placed bunkers and water at the 9th and 18th mean no two holes ask quite the same question, and the course rewards a golfer willing to use every club in the bag rather than lean on one shot shape. The par-5 6th is the one to watch, its length making it the most demanding test on the card. Three decades of maturity have only sharpened the character that made this course a fixture on the Costa Cálida in the first place.
A restaurant, driving range and full clubhouse facilities sit close to the first tee, ready for a proper day out. Book Altorreal for a genuinely varied round with the kind of history few courses in the region can match.

The booking process was easy and straightforward. We had an 11:36 tee time but due to overbooking of a large golfing society by the course we didn’t tee off until 12:10. This delay and overbooking resulted in a slow round and waiting on a lot of holes to tee off. The course itself was very enjoyable and in good condition.
