Lomas Bosque Golf Course

Lomas Bosque Golf Course opened in 1973 in Villaviciosa de Odón, twenty-five minutes from central Madrid, designed by Robert Dean Puttman to make the most of a genuinely varied piece of land. Run since 1985 as a members' club deliberately kept free of overcrowding, it's built a reputation over five decades as a serious test that also hosts its share of amateur and professional tournaments.

The course splits into two distinct halves. The front nine is properly hilly, working through pines, holm oaks, and ravines that follow the land's natural contours rather than fighting them. The back nine flattens out completely, and a substantial lake becomes a constant presence, guarding greens and demanding careful club selection on the approach. Throughout, the greens are well protected by trees and bunkers, keeping the test consistent whether you're playing the rugged front or the exposed back.

Facilities include a driving range and locker rooms, plus a separate 9-hole par-3 course for a shorter session or a warm-up before the main round. This is a genuinely varied piece of golf just outside Madrid, worth building into any trip to the capital.
