Infinitum Lakes was laid out in 2008 by Greg Norman and Alfonso Vidaor, routed through the Sèquia Major wetlands, a protected area of Natural Interest a few minutes from Tarragona and the Costa Daurada coast. It sits alongside two sister courses, Hills and Ruins, on a resort that picked up 'Europe's Best Golf Venue' at the World Golf Awards in 2019 and 2020.
This is the technical one of the three, a links-style layout that rewards precision over power. Water comes into play on seven of the front nine holes and six of the back nine, at the tee, along the fairway or tight against the green, so club selection matters more here than almost anywhere else on the Costa Daurada. The course plays to a par of 71 and has hosted the DP World Tour's Qualifying School Final Stage every year running, stretching to 7,001 yards from the championship tees when the tour's hopefuls come to town each November.
A complimentary shuttle runs guests over from partner hotels across Cambrils, Salou, Tarragona, Vila-seca, Reus and La Pineda. Book Infinitum Lakes if you want a proper test of accuracy off the tee, and bring enough balls for the water.

9 holes of the lakes course were closed so we had to play a combination of Lakes and Ruins. Ruins definitely being the more agreeable course with even some spectacular holes. Without buggy it would be very difficult to combine these two courses since there are very long distances between green and next holes. Lakes clubhouse was closed so check in and parking was at Hills course and it was quite a distance to arrive at the first hole and get back from the last to the clubhouse.
