Buenavista Golf Course
Buenavista Golf Course was designed by Severiano Ballesteros himself and opened in October 2003, in the far northwest of Tenerife's Isla Baja region, between the protected Teno mountain range and the Atlantic. It's known locally as the ''European Pebble Beach'' for the way its coastal holes hug the cliff edge, and the course won the Premio Madera Verde environmental award in 2006, alongside ISO 9001 and 14001 certification.
The layout runs 18 holes, par 72, 6,150 metres, evenly split between six par-3s, six par-4s and six par-5s. The front nine sits higher inland, with views across the Teno massif; the back nine runs along the coast, with five greens close enough to the cliff edge that the shot feels aimed straight at the ocean. Precision matters most at the 15th and 17th, where a mishit ball goes straight into the Atlantic. A central lake, linked by waterfalls, sits between the 9th and 18th.
Facilities include a practice range, putting green, chipping area, golf academy, pro shop, changing rooms and GPS buggy hire. The clubhouse sits high at the centre of the course, its terraces looking out over every hole, and the course adjoins the five-star Meliá Hacienda del Conde. Had a good game, although very tight and packed. Some holes you have to be very mindful as crossed over each other. Spectacular views and lovely friendly staff.

Excellent golf course. Friendly helpful staff at the Pro Shop on checking in. Well organised 1st tee starter and a beautiful golf course, well maintained, excellent greens. We thoroughly enjoyed our round.

Fantastic golf course. However one drawback is the journey to het there. Google maps will bring you across mountains and then though very small back roads. Playing again I would try and find an easier drive.
