La Barganiza Golf Course

La Barganiza Golf Course sits in Siero, Asturias, on the old Oviedo–Gijón road, with views toward the Sierra del Aramo and the Picos de Europa beyond. Founded in 1982, it began life as nine holes designed by Víctor García de la Cruz before Javier Núñez Martínez completed the course at a full eighteen.

The routing has evolved over the decades, most recently swapping its opening hole from a par 5 to a par 3 for a smoother start to the round. Recent work has added real depth to the course: tee boxes on the 7th, 8th, 10th, 12th and 18th have been renovated, more than 2,000 trees, shrubs and plants across 300 species have been planted, and new lakes now come into play on holes 8, 9, 10 and 13. A wide variety of tree species gives the course genuine seasonal colour, and the varied terrain means every hole plays with its own distinct character.

A driving range, golf academy, locker rooms and putting green are all on site, alongside a well-appointed clubhouse.
