Real Golf de Pedreña is the oldest golf club in Cantabria, opened in 1928 on the hillside above Santander Bay, and it remains the club where Seve Ballesteros was born, learned the game, and later returned to build his own holes. Pine woods and centuries-old trees frame a course with views over the bay and the Cubas estuary that few clubs anywhere can rival.
Harry S. Colt laid out the original 18 holes across genuinely testing terrain, working the natural elevation of the hillside into a routing that rewards precision over power. Ballesteros added a further nine in 1991, bringing his own design instincts to bear on the club that shaped him. Together they make Pedreña a rare thing: a course with real Colt pedigree and a direct, personal link to one of golf's greatest players.
A driving range, pro shop and changing rooms are all on site. Visitors are genuinely welcome, though this is a club that asks for a little more preparation than most: advance booking is essential, and a valid handicap certificate is required. Get in touch and we'll take care of the arrangements, so all that's left for you is the round itself.
