Peralada Golf Course opened in 1993, designed by Jordi Soler Peix in the Alt Empordà countryside near Figueres, birthplace of Salvador Dalí. It holds a genuinely distinctive credential: the first golf course in Europe awarded the EU's EMAS certificate for environmental management, recognition that its lakes, mature trees and careful landscaping weren't just for show.
The course plays to a par of 71 over roughly 6,071 metres, with gentle elevation change and four tee positions on every hole that make it approachable for a wide range of handicaps without ever feeling toothless. Lakes and streams run through much of the round, and well-placed bunkers keep even confident players honest. It has hosted the Catalonia Open and trials for both the PGA Pre-Qualifying School and the Seniors Qualifying School, and shared in the Costa Brava-Girona region's Emerging Golf Destination award from IAGTO in 2000.
A 9-hole pitch and putt alongside the main course extends the visit for a shorter session or a warm-up. Book Peralada Golf Course for an easy-walking round with the Pyrenees on one horizon and the Mediterranean on the other, in a landscape as carefully looked after as the golf itself.
