Villaitana Poniente is the shorter of the two Nicklaus Design courses at the Meliá Villaitana resort above Benidorm, laid out on a hillside within a Mediterranean pine forest. At an executive par 62, it trades length for a setting that keeps both the sea and the surrounding mountains in view for most of the round.
Shorter does not mean easier. The course demands sharp iron play and a confident short game rather than raw distance, and while high and medium handicappers will find plenty of workable options from the tee, low handicappers face a genuine test of precision throughout. Every hole offers something for the short game to chew on, making this a course that rewards touch as much as it rewards accuracy.
A driving range, practice academy and locker room are all close at hand, making Poniente an easy pairing with a round on its sister course, Levante. Book a round here for a quicker, sharper test with the same setting that makes Villaitana worth the visit.
