La Marquesa Golf

La Marquesa has been a fixture of Costa Blanca golf since 1989, when Justo Quesada designed the course as the founding piece of what became the Ciudad Quesada development near Rojales. It has since grown into one of the most-played courses in the province, sitting in a level valley with a mountain backdrop and its own gentle microclimate.

The course leans on variety rather than length: ramps, blind holes and two lakes ask different questions from tee to tee, while bunkers guard the greens closely enough to demand real precision on the approach. Its best-known moment is the 16th, a faithful replica of the island green at Sawgrass's famous 17th, where nerve counts for as much as swing. Tees sit close to greens throughout, keeping the round moving between the more demanding stretches.
