Villamartin Golf Course
Villamartin has been a fixture of the Costa Blanca since June 1972, when Robert Dean Putman, the same architect behind La Manga's championship courses, laid it out on the southern edge of Orihuela Costa. It remains the oldest course in the region, and more than fifty years of maturity show in every fairway.
The front nine sits on higher ground, opening up sweeping views across the countryside to the sea, while the back nine drops into the valley, where ravines cut across several holes and demand real course management. The 17th is the hole most golfers remember, widely regarded as one of the best par 3s on the coast. Villamartin's pedigree isn't just age: it hosted the European Tour's Turespaña Open Mediterrania in 1994, won by José María Olazábal in a playoff, and its fairways have carried the likes of Seve Ballesteros and Ian Woosnam.

Really nice golf course. Played here twice in 3 days and really enjoyed the course. Couple of incredibly tough holes. Only complaint is the pace of play, 5 hours for first game and 4h 45m for second game. If you play here have patience or a well stocked cool bag.

Nice golf course. One or two dangerous holes where you could be in someone’s back garden or hit oncoming traffic. It was a 5 hour plus round that took the shine of an otherwise good course
