Las Colinas Golf & Country Club
Las Colinas opened in March 2011 in Orihuela Costa, designed by the American architect Cabell B. Robinson, whose portfolio also includes La Reserva in Sotogrande and Finca Cortesín on the Costa del Sol. The course settles into a valley between the hills rather than imposing itself on the landscape, and that natural fit has been recognised with Spain's Best Golf Course at the World Golf Awards in both 2015 and 2016.
Wide fairways and extensive, undulating greens give the course real versatility: it's demanding enough to have hosted professional competitions, yet multiple tees on every hole keep it genuinely playable for golfers of any level. The valley setting means the course changes character as it moves through the terrain, with the surrounding hills and glimpses of the coastline adding to the sense of occasion throughout the round.
