Hercules Golf Course sits in Larín, just outside A Coruña, easily reached from the motorway yet genuinely quiet once you're on the course: birdsong and golf are about all you'll hear. It's a club with real local roots, founded in 1996 by a group of enthusiasts who'd grown tired of travelling to play.
The original nine holes wind through mature trees, ponds and streams, giving this stretch a lush, established feel, while the second nine, added in 2008 to meet growing demand, opens the course out onto wider ground that's still filling in as its own trees mature. Together they make for a genuinely varied round, backed by a slope rating, 142 from the yellows and 131 from the reds, among the toughest in Galicia.
A driving range, golf academy, putting green and pro shop are all on site. Visitors are welcome daily, though advance booking and a valid handicap certificate are required; get in touch and we'll sort the details. For golfers after a quiet, well-priced round with real teeth close to A Coruña, Hercules is well worth a look.
