La Valmuza Golf Course was designed by Severiano Ballesteros and opened in 2005, five minutes from Salamanca in the heart of the dehesa salmantina countryside. Few courses in the region can claim a Seve design, and it shows in a layout built with genuine care for the land it sits on, functional and natural rather than showy.
The course balances six par-3s, six par-4s, and six par-5s across an eighteen-hole round shaped by undulating greens and strategically placed water, with lakes guarding the 3rd, 9th, and 18th holes in particular. Centuries-old holm oaks frame the tees and fairways throughout, giving the round a sense of permanence beyond its relatively young age, and the whole layout is built to welcome complete beginners without losing the teeth needed for serious tournament play.
Facilities include a driving range, academy, and locker rooms, along with a genuinely strong golf school taking students from age five upwards. This is Ballesteros's design legacy at its most accessible — book ahead for a round that rewards golfers of every level.
