Ría de Vigo Golf Course

Ría de Vigo Golf Course sits on a south-facing plateau above the Vigo estuary in Domaio-Moaña, ringed by eucalyptus trees and built across 65 hectares of genuinely dramatic ground. From holes 11, 14 and 17 in particular, the views stretch out over the Atlantic, the Rande Bridge and the city of Vigo itself.

Ramón Espinosa designed the course, opening it in 1993 as a par 72 built to use the natural terrain rather than fight it. Six lakes and a running river weave through the round, adding real teeth to a layout already known for its deceptive greens: breaks here have a habit of revealing themselves only after the ball's already rolling past the hole. It's a course that rewards local knowledge and punishes overconfidence in equal measure.
