Santa Marina Golf Course

Santa Marina Golf Course sits inside the Oyambre Natural Park near San Vicente de la Barquera, built around a 16th-century manor house and a 17th-century chapel, with streams threading through the wooded estate. It was one of the last courses Severiano Ballesteros designed in his native Cantabria, and he personally directed its construction.

The front nine, known locally as the Ramón Sota holes, is tight and technical, with streams and natural hazards demanding precision from the first tee. The back nine opens out, rewarding length and a bolder line off the tee. Holes 4, 5 and 6 form the course's real test, a stretch Seve himself likened to Augusta's Amen Corner: get through them, and the rest of the round tends to follow.

A driving range, putting green and locker rooms are on site, alongside padel courts and a social club for those extending the day. Visitors are welcome, though advance booking and a valid handicap certificate are required; get in touch and we'll arrange the details so all that's left is the round itself.
